SP12 Questionnaire

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? Every yarn has it's place in my knittings. I love natural fibers more than artificials, though.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
My circulars are in plastic pockets individually, my hooks, DPNs and "one-point-needles" are in a very beautiful needle roll.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I have knitted about 25 years, I learnt at home and at school. I would consider me to be advanced.

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? I'm making a wishlist to my sidebar.

5. What's your favorite scent? I love natual, floral and oriental scents. I'm not so fond of very "sweet" flavours.

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? Yes, indeed. I love chocolate, fruit candies, nuts and also salted snacks.

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? i crochet, cross-stitch and do other needlecraft. I would love to learn to spin one day.

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I like almost every kind of music, except "modern youth music". I like classic music, metal, old jazz, movie music, musicals 70's and 80's music. My computer can't play music.

9. What's your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can't stand? I love almost all colors, especially red, green, orangr, brown, yellow, black and white. I don't like very soft pastels or "all colors together".

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? I'm married and have three little boys (born June 04, April 06 and October 07). We have two cats and 250 hens.

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?
Yes, all of them.
12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?Socks, scarves and sweaters.

13. What are you knitting right now?Socks for me and a summer top. Next I'm going to make summer sweaters for my bigger boys.

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? Yes, absolutely!

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? I prefer circulars and DPNs. Wooden and ADDIs. i love my KnitPics Harmony-circulars!

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? Yes, I do.

17. How old is your oldest UFO? Very old, we don't talk about it...

18. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas!

19. Is there anything that you collect? Angels and angel postcards. And yarn, of course...

20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
I subscribe Finnish knitting magazines and Simply Knitting. I think my Interweave Knits subscription will start from next issue. I'd love to have past issues from Simply Knitting (before issue 32). Some day I'd like to have Jamieson&Smith cobweb yarn enough for a shawl... And I adore patterns for Eris and Rogue and all Cookie A sock patterns. And it would be nice to get 2,25-2,75-3,25 or 3-75 circulars, they are almost impossible to get from Finland.

21. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? I'd love to learn to spin and do entrelac better.

22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? Yes, I am. I am a woman with medium foot.

23. When is your birthday? April 28th.
